Dave's Cool Toys Frequently Asked Questions,
and some not-so-frequently asked ones that I thought were important...and a couple I made up.

O.K. What KIND of toys do you sell?
We have all kinds of toys, but nothing ordinary. The toys we sell are for all ages. We have a beautiful wooden baby rattle for infants and we have stuff for older kids (like me). We also have some which are not exactly toys, but are very cool. What you won't find is the same stuff that you can find at the local toy supermarkets, or the online versions. I'm always looking for something unusual and cool.

What kind of toys DON'T you sell?
As a rule, we don't sell electronic toys (like Game-Boys), software, licensed toys, or games. Those are available many other places. But that doesn't mean you won't find 1 or 2 of each here if they're cool. We also try our best not to sell the kinds of stuff you can find in aisle-after-aisle at the local toy supermarket. We also don't sell vintage or antique toys. All our toys are brand-spankin' new.

Do you sell collectible or licensed toys?
No. We don't sell licensed toys like Pokemon, comic characters (sorry... graphic novel characters), motion picture toys, etc.

Can you find me (fill in the blank) toy which I had when I was little?
Maybe. You can ask. If I can find it, it's cool and I get enough requests, I will probably carry it. If I find it somewhere else I'll tell you where you can get it. Really!

Do you sell any of your items wholesale?
Sorry, we are not the manufacturer of any of the items we sell and cannot provide wholesale pricing on them.

Can you provide us with the name, address, etc. of the manufacturer of the toys you sell so we can purchase them wholesale?
We certainly don't mind helping other toy stores to find items we sell, but our priority is to our customers and fulfilling their orders and we will help you on a limited basis, if we have the time and you ask really nice.

We would like to purchase vast quantities of toys from you. Will you give us a discount?
Yes. We'd love to sell you vast quantities of toys at a discount. The discounts we can offer vary depending on the items you would like to purchase, but most quantity discounts will be for quantities of 50, 100 or more. When you place an order and receive a discount for quantity, we will charge you the actual shipping cost for the order rather than the shipping listed on our site. The discount is also dependent on payment within 30 days. Invoices older than 30 days will forfeit the discount. Please contact us for more information.

We are in another country and would like to to purchase a cell phone, X-Box, etc. for us at a local store and ship it to us and we will compensate you for it.
No.

We are in another country and would like you to mark our shipment "gift" or "samples" to avoid tarrifs. Can you do that?
No.

Is "Changeable Charlie" a wooden toy which has blocks with a face on them which can be rearranged into different expressions?

No. The Changeable Charlie that I sell is a little guy made of blocks which can be rearranged into different poses. He can stand, kneel or sit on your desk. His head has a smile-face on one side and a sad-face on the other. There was a vintage toy called Changeable Charlie which is available as a collectible. I've seen him priced anywhere from $75-$100. I have been told, that there is a reproduction of him called "Crazy Charlie" which is a new toy. I have been looking for him, but haven't found him yet, so I don't personally know if this is true. However, we do sell a toys called "Ol' Million Face" which is a reproduction of a toy that Changeable Charlie was based on.

Do you have a store that I can visit?
No, we are an online store only. We do not have a brick-and-mortar store, we operate from our office and warehouse. The address listed on the website is our office and mailing address.

How can I pay for my order?
We accept VISA, MasterCard, and PayPal. You can also pay by Check or Money Order. If you live outside the U.S. payment must be in US funds by credit card. If you live outside the U.S. and are placing a sizeable order, we require a faxed copy of both sides of your credit card, with signature, at the time of your order before we will proceed with it.

Is it safe to order with my credit card online
Our online shopping cart is secure and encryped. Although much has been said about the security of ordering over the web, I believe that placing an order online is just as safe (or more) than placing one over the phone, through the mail, or handing your credit card to some stranger at a department store. If you're still not comfortable with it, you can copy or print your order and mail or fax it. You can also call us and order by phone. One thing we strongly suggest is that you never use a debit card to place an order over the web (or by mail or phone). If your card number should be stolen, a thief can empty your checking account before you even know it's been stolen.

Do you have an 800 number we can call and place an order over the phone?
No. We are a family-run business and cannot be available to take phone orders 24 hours. You are welcome to call to place an order, but you may have to leave a message if nobody is in the office. We will call back as soon as we can. If we call back and don't get the person who called, we will not leave a message (in case you are placing an order for a family member as a gift). Please be sure to leave the best time to call and what time zone you are in. The best way to contact us is by email.

How do you ship your toys?
Most go through UPS. Therefore it's important to supply a street address (UPS does not ship to PO Boxes). If you don't supply a street address, we will ship by USPS. We also sometimes ship by USPS or FedEx at our discretion or by request. We ship all international orders, and orders to Hawaii and Alaska, by USPS.

How long will it take to get my toys?
You should allow 1-3 weeks for delivery in the US before you panic. However, if you purchase with a credit card and your item is in-stock, your order should go out the next day and you should receive it in a few days depending on where you are.

Are you getting rich on shipping charges?
No. I do my very best to keep shipping charges as close to my actual charges as possible. I realize it stinks to buy a $3.00 item and have to pay $6.50 to have it shipped. So I suggest you buy more. No, really! It just makes sense. Maybe you have a friend who would like to place an order. Order them together and you will pay much less shipping per item. Our maximum standard shipping charge in the continental U.S. is only $10.50.

How much is shipping outside the US?
We ship outside the US by USPS. We will charge you actual shipping charges plus $10.00 handling, which could be expensive depending on where you live and the size and weight of your shipment. It could also take some time to receive your order.
These are estimated delivery times and not guarantees. It also may take a bit longer for your order to actually ship due to Customs forms, etc. Some countries have restrictions on items and size limitations which may make it impossible or too expensive to ship some items. International shipping charges are non-refundable. If you live outside the U.S. and are placing a sizeable order, we require a faxed copy of both sides of your credit card, with signature, at the time of your order before we will proceed with it. We may contact the issuing bank of your credit card to verify your information. We reserve the right to refuse any order if we suspect fraud.

Can I get rush shipping?
Rush shipping is available at check-out. All rush Shipping Charges are non-refundable. Rush order will ship by the next business day. It is not always possible to send an order rush. If we cannot accommodate you, will will contact you.

Can I return my items?
You may return your items withing 30 days of receipt for a full refund of the purchase price of your item. We only ask that it be in it's original packaging in unused condition with all packaging material. If there is a problem with an item, or your items arrived damaged, please contact us for instructions.

If I place an order will you send me tons of E-mail?
No. We only E-Mail customer to confirm their order and shipment by UPS or when there is a problem with their order. We do send an email newsletter to folks on who have joined our mailing list, but you have to subscribe to that separately here.
